About Liz
I now have over 20 years experience as an equine veterinary surgeon and am an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Equine Surgery (Orthopaedics) and a European Specialist in Equine Surgery. I grew up in the south west of Scotland and qualified from Glasgow University in 2000. Having grown up around horses, at an early age I realised the importance of keeping those horses as sound as possible, and this is probably what prompted my interest in equine orthopaedics and lameness. I worked in various large hospitals around the UK and also for a brief spell in Canada, before settling in Kent in 2008.
I founded Barr Equine Veterinary Ltd in December 2018.
